Jacqueline MacIntyre began her dance training at Maritime Dance Academy in 1996 where she later became a senior dancer and taught for seven years. She has continued her training at The Leica Hardy School of Dance and Halifax Dance. Since 2002, she has danced with the Maritime Dance Performance Group, under the direction of Kelly Horne, performing in showcases such as Momentum, Fusion, and Body Language, and in 2006 an original Verve Mwendo piece entitled, Way of Going, choreographed by Cory Bowles. In 2006 she was named Assistant to the Director of the Performance Group. Summer training programs have led Jacqueline to The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, the Broadway Dance Center and to Decidedly Jazz Danceworks in Calgary. While at those programs she has performed works by choreographers such as Joanne Baker, Jamie Freeman Cormak and Darryl Tracy. She is curently completing her English degree at Saint Mary’s University and continues to teach and train in the Halifax area.
