ThirtySomething
Dance :Caught on Film
(Halifax,
N.S.) -- The Dunn Theatre at Dalhouse University in Halifax will
be the stage for thirtySomething Dance Co-op's second independent
show scheduled for April 8 and 9, 2006. Visit
http://www.thirtysomethingdance.com/ for details about
show times and tickets.
The new show, titled "Caught on Film: tsdc Exposed," promises
a behind-the-scenes peek at what it takes to stage a live dance
show, especially when its performers are not full-time dance professionals.
But that hasn't stopped the exuberant and creative members of the
group from self-producing two Fringe Hits in a row and last year's
independent show, "Studio 34: Where Those Who Can, Dance,"
to sold-out audiences.
ThirtySomething Dance Co-op is known for its irreverent sense of
humour, which is in evidence in "Caught on Film." A tongue-in-cheek
viewer advisory warns that audience members with strong dance technique
or solid sense of rhythm may find certain scenes disturbing.
Guest choreographers for the 2006 show include Veronique MacKenzie
and Mufaro Chakabuda, who have created new modern and traditional
African pieces, respectively. Tsdc members also have choreographed
new pieces and a few crowd favourites from past shows will be reprised.
From modern-infused jazz to high-flying swing, hick hop country
to synchronized swimming, thirtySomething's new show is live family
entertainment not to be missed!
